The Annual

George E. Hamilton

Alumni Debate

Each year during Homecoming weekend, alumni join current undergraduates at the Annual George E. Hamilton Alumni Debate. This unique debate allows for alumni of all ages to engage with current students in the Philodemic Society. The President of Alumni Philodemica presides over this special debate in which there is no seniority.

After the debate, the Hamilton Medal is awarded to the undergraduate speaker who best represented the Society by pursuing “eloquence in the defense of liberty” in their speech that day.
